How it works?
You need to pre book tickets in order to come to the site.
Arrival times are divided into 30-minute slots so please arrive in your allocated slot.
You will have access all areas of the site including the refreshments area (hot and cold drinks are available).
Come to the field to select your very own perfect pumpkin.
We will have a variety of pumpkins and squashes (£2 – £12) – all are edible!
Parking is on site.

We will have catering onsite thanks to My Little Drinks Van. Coffee, tea, cake and savoury options.
You are also very welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the field.
We have a portaloo for emergencies. The pumpkin patch is a field so facilities are basic, with no running water or electricity.
Car
The postcode for the farm is CM77 8DL.
Rail
Braintree Freeport station is a 15 minute walk from the farm, however take care as the last 200m there are busy road crossings with no provision for pedestrians.
Bus
The number 38 linking Halsted, Braintree and Witham passes close by the farm. The bus stop is opposite Fowler’s Farm. Care must be taken as the last 100m involves a busy road crossing with no provision for pedestrians.
Friendly dogs on leads are welcome. Please clear up after your dog.
The main paths will be mostly mud free (along as there isn’t too much rain!)
Off the paths it will be muddier and more uneven.
If unsure bring an old pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.
Yes! Booking is essential as we only have a limited amount of space for cars.

A bit of rain never stops us enjoying ourselves at Otto’s. We will remain open in most cases so bring appropriate clothing and footwear.
We do not offer refunds unless we have to close.
We know however that sometimes life gets in the way of plans, so we allow you to change your booking (through the links on the confirmation email) up to 48 hours before your booked visit.
Some say he was the person who brought pumpkins to Europe. Others say he started the world’s first pumpkin patch. To us though Otto is the man behind all the magic…
We love to have organised groups. Please contact us beforehand though so we can make sure there is enough space on site!
The ground is uneven in places, we have no concrete paths. The site is a mix of gravel, wood chip paths and fields. Please contact us beforehand if you are concerned.

Nice and busy but not oversold so we managed to get on the swings/play the games that are dotted around and no queues for hot chocolates. Nice day out!Posted on Google

If you’re after a traditional pumpkin patch where you can spend a nice hour choosing whilst purchasing a decent coffee with cake. Then this is your place! The layout this year was the best yet too have a few games for the kids, plenty of pumpkin options as well a lovely photo oppurtunity. My kids also love this one the most as it isn’t too over crowded. The prices of the pumpkins, drinks cookies etc are also all really affordable and the bigger car park this year is great can’t wait to go back next yearPosted on Google

They have a good selection of pumpkins for PYO and also some lovely squashes to use for cooking Lots of fun activities for the kids to take part in, reasonably priced refreshments and fair pricing on the pumpkins. We will be back next year, thank you to all involved with the running of Ottos. Very kind lady, Ottos Mum I believe who escorted myself and my children back to our car as it was dark. Good old fashioned Pumpkin fun, rather than some of the more overpriced and commercialised pumpkin patches. 5*Posted on Google
