Tickets & Prices
Yes ! Booking is essential as we only have a limited amount of space for cars.
We will have a variety of pumpkins and squashes (£2 – £12) – all are edible!
A bit of rain never stops us enjoying ourselves at Otto’s. We will remain open in most cases so bring appropriate clothing and footwear.
We do not offer refunds or exchanges outside of our usual policy unless we have to close.
We know however that sometimes life gets in the way of plans, so we allow you to change your booking (through the links on the confirmation email) up to 48 hours before your booked visit.
The Facilities
We will have catering onsite thanks to My Little Drinks Van. Coffee, Tea, cakes as well as toasties.
You are also very welcome to bring a picnic and enjoy it in the field.
We have a Portaloo for emergencies. The pumpkin patch is a field so facilities are basic, with no running water or electricity.
The Farm
Car
The postcode for the farm is CM77 8DL.
Rail
Braintree Freeport station is a 15 minute walk from the farm, however take care as the last 200m there are busy road crossings with no provision for pedestrians.
Bus
The number 38 linking Halsted, Braintree and Witham passes close by the farm. The bus stop is called esxdwatj, opposite Fowler’s Farm. Care must be taken as the last 100m involves a busy road crossing with no provision for pedestrians.
Friendly dogs on leads are welcome. Please clear up after your dog.
The main paths will be mostly mud free (along as there isn’t too much rain!)
Off the paths it will be muddier and more uneven.
If unsure bring an old pair of shoes that you don’t mind getting muddy.
Other
Some say he was the person who brought pumpkins to Europe. Others say he started the world’s first pumpkin patch. To us though Otto is the man behind all the magic…
We love to have organised groups. Please contact us beforehand though so we can make sure there is enough space on site!
The ground is uneven in places, however please contact us beforehand if you are concerned.

Otto's pumpkin patch is a lovely little place, huge selection of different pumpkins. Who knew there were so many different types. Some id never seen before. I did find the tiniest polar bear pumpkin. Great coffee and food. Games scattered around for young and old. The swing in the woods was enjoyed by us all. The forbidden forest with little quiz questions throughout. Photo opportunity set ups and of course great selection of pumpkins to pick from the field. This is our second year visiting, we will be back again next year. Definitely recommend. S C31/10/2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. A magical place to visit, Otto's Pumpkin Patch is full of delights for both children and adults alike. Trails to follow, secret hideaways to explore, warming drinks to consume, and amazing colourful pumpkins to pick from the fields or from the marquee. Highly recommended, and if you missed this year's event, make sure you go next year. And who knew that pumpkins also grow on trees! 😉🎃
